Maybe all those cat videos on the Internet are about to get some competition from Man’s Best Friend? However, if the latest product from GoPro Inc. takes off, dogs may be making the videos instead of starring in them. Seeking to fill a void in people’s need to get a true dog’s-eye-view of the world, GoPro on Monday unveiled the Fetch, a harness specifically designed to strap onto the back, or underside, of your dog that you can attach a GoPro camera to your dog and record where Fido travels during the day. For 60 bucks you can get a Fetch and then marvel at the video Rover shot as he roamed around while lugging this electronic contraption. As GoPro GPRO +0.46% put it, the chest view will give you “bone-chewing, digging and front-paw action” and from the back, “over-the-head shots of running, jumping, fetch and more.” Now, before any animal rights crazies start complaining that the Fetch is cruel to canines, GoPro says… “We designed Fetch to meet the unique needs and usage for pets and can’t wait to see the images and videos that owners will capture and share now that they have a mount specifically for their dog.” A day after GoPro debuted the Fetch for dogs, the company’s share price rose 3.4% to $45.33. Makes you wonder what could happen if the company designed something similar for cats. via marketwatch
